Nissan Diesel U31RCN

Introduction

Tibs' subsidiary (now sister company) Singapore Shuttle Bus (SSB) ordered 50 Nissan Diesel U31RCNs, of which 26 are air-conditioned while the rest are not. These buses were completed either in December 1992 or January 1993. Tibs leased 16 of the air-conditioned U31RCNs from SSB before they were being registered under the CSS prefix. These buses were later registered in the range TIB362M to TIB377X, which were recycled registration numbers from the Hino BF177Gs that were also leased from SSB.

Currently these 16 buses are distributed between Ang Mo Kio and Woodlands Depots. Three of these buses (TIB362M, TIB363K and TIB366C) are currently used as training buses, and appropriate modifications had been made to these buses. The remaining are currently permanently deployed on services 75, 167, 178, 187, 853, 961 and 981.
